Find out how to type special characters in OS X

Last week Kevin posted a great article on how to input nonstandard characters on your computer. Today I just found out about a piece of software that can insert characters for you, and tell you how to type them yourself. It is like Adobe's Glyph panel on steroids.

The product is called popcharx and retails for about $45. I personally have not used it, but it looks promising.

*I just wanted to thank the people commenting on this post that ergois actually has a windows version of this software too called popcharwin. Thanks for letting me know!

Hi,

glad to hear that you find PopChar promising :-).
You said, that - unfortunately - it is Mac only. I hope that it is good news for you to learn that PopChar is NOT Mac only.

The Windows version of PopChar is called PopChar Win and you can get all info and download it from

We invite you to try out PopChar to type special characters on the platform of your choice.
